Terms and Conditions

Research Engage is owned and operated by Research Engage (Private) Limited, a private limited company registered in pakistan. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Research Engage (Private) Limited, and “you” means anyone who uses Research Engage.

By creating an account or using Research Engage, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund and Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

To use most features you need an account. When you create one, you agree to:

• give accurate information about yourself and keep it up to date;
• keep your password private and not share your account with anyone else;
• use one account per person; and
• tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can stop using Research Engage at any time and ask us to close your account by contacting info@research-engage.com.

People use Research Engage in different roles. What you can do depends on your role:

• Researchers build a profile, appear in the researcher directory, post projects and send or accept collaboration requests.
• Project Leads create a project, choose collaborators, manage tasks, deadlines and the research stage, and run the project chat.
• Collaborators join a project, see its tasks and update the status of the tasks given to them.
• Project Coordinators are assigned by the Research Engage team to help run a project's tasks, deadlines and meetings.
• Mentors and teachers offer paid learning services, such as sessions and cohorts, through the platform.
• Learners join learning services and pay for them through the platform.

Some roles, such as Coordinator, mentor and teacher, are granted only after review by our team. We may change or remove a role if it is misused.

Research Engage is a professional space. You must not:

• pretend to be someone else, or give false academic or professional details;
• harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone;
• post content that is unlawful, misleading, obscene or that you have no right to share;
• share other people's personal data, unpublished research or files without permission;
• send spam, unsolicited promotions or repeated unwanted requests;
• ask for or make payments outside the platform for services offered on it;
• try to access accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or disrupt the service; or
• copy, scrape or resell the directory or other content from the platform.

If you see something that breaks these rules, please report it to info@research-engage.com.

You keep ownership of what you add to Research Engage, including your profile, projects, messages and files (“your content”).

You give us permission to store, display and share your content only as needed to run the platform: for example, to show your profile in the directory, show a project to its team, or deliver your messages. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law or that other people already received (such as messages in a project chat).

You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

Some services on Research Engage are paid, such as mentoring sessions and learning cohorts. For every paid service:

• the price is shown in Pakistani rupees (PKR) before you pay, together with what is included;
• payment is made only through our payment provider, Safepay, on a secure checkout. We do not see or store your card details; and
• you receive a confirmation once the payment is successful.

Research Engage charges a platform fee of 20%. The fee is taken from the mentor's or teacher's earnings for each paid service.

Learners pay only the listed price. No platform fee or other charge is added on top of the price shown before payment. Mentors and teachers receive the listed price minus the 20% platform fee.

Cancellations and refunds follow our Refund and Cancellation Policy. In short: you get a full refund if you were charged but did not get access, or if the mentor or teacher cancels or does not show up; you can cancel for a full refund at least 24 hours before a session; and you can report a problem within 7 days of a session ending.

We may limit, suspend or close an account, or remove content, if we reasonably believe that it breaks these terms or the law, puts other users at risk, or involves fraud or payments outside the platform.

Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If a paid service is affected by a suspension that was not your fault, the refund policy applies.

We work to keep Research Engage available, secure and accurate, but the platform is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.

Researchers, mentors and teachers are independent users. We do not guarantee the results of any collaboration, research project or learning service, and we are not responsible for what users say or do, although we will act on reports of misuse.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for a paid service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law that cannot be limited.

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Any dispute that we cannot resolve through our complaints process will be decided by the competent courts of Pakistan.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will publish the new version on this page, and for important changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Research Engage after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
